SUNSEEKERS FOR SALE: BROKERAGE BOATS TO COVET

Sunseeker International has long been one of the most well-known names in motor yachting. The UK yard based in Poole, Dorset has been at the forefront of the industry for a long time. Proud of its performance heritage and collaboration with designers such as Don Shead, Sunseeker has grown to be a global name and has won numerous Queen’s awards for export and enterprise.

With a vast number of diverse models built over the years, from high performance sports boats to prestigious superyachts, the pre-owned market for Sunseeker Yachts and Sunseeker Brokerage is compelling and offers a wealth of opportunities.

At Argo Yachting, we have a range of used Sunseekers for sale in Southampton, London and Plymouth, as well as Marbella, Mallorca and Germany. From Superhawks and Tomahawks to Predators and Portofinos – from compact and classic to cool and cutting edge – we have Sunseekers of every size, shape and budget. Of course, in a post-lockdown world, demand for used boats of any kind has become pretty fierce but if you’re in the market for something with the power to excite, the following Sunseeker models are well worth seeking out…

SUNSEEKER PORTOFINO 40

Launched in 2012 and running until 2015, Sunseeker’s Portofino 40 was a brilliant way to coax people into the Sunseeker family. It was designed to combine the feel-good performance of a fast open day boat with the kind of space and luxury that would enable four people to cruise in genuine comfort. It was extremely popular at the time – and thanks to its combination of modern styling, everyday flexibility and manageable proportions, it remains so on the used market today.

SUNSEEKER SAN REMO 485

The 51-foot San Remo is seen by many as one of the most beautiful sports cruisers Sunseeker has ever built. Heralded at its launch as ‘an icon of tomorrow’, a pair of Volvo Penta IPS Pod Drives generate a 30-knot top end, while also freeing up some great space on the lower deck for two impressively spacious cabins. With a wide-open main deck and lots of alfresco lounging space to supplement its lovely styling, the San Remo’s glowing reputation was rubber-stamped at the 2014 Motor Boat Awards where it scooped top prize for ‘Best Sports Cruiser over 45 feet’.

SUNSEEKER PREDATOR 80

The Predator 80 has been a major highlight in the Sunseeker story ever since its appearance in the mid 90s. Despite measuring more than 80-feet in length, weighing more than 50 tonnes and accommodating eight guests, it could fly along at speeds in excess of 45 knots. While it always boasted lovely low-profile lines, later incarnations of the Predator 80 would add to the style and sophistication with features like a retractable carbon fibre roof and panoramic windows. But whichever period you favour, this closed-cockpit, high-performance luxury motoryacht delivers a very satisfying combination of style, sport and prestige.

SUNSEEKER 105 YACHT

When Sunseeker broke the magic 100-foot mark with the introduction of the 105 Yacht in 2001, it laid the foundation for the brand’s shift into the world of true superyachts. With its four lavish staterooms, its unstinting internal opulence, its extravagant external lines and its sheer physical scale, this 26-knot, flybridge-equipped boat was quick to receive international acclaim – not least in the form of a coveted prize at the International Superyacht Society Design Awards.

‘FILM STAR’ SUNSEEKERS

If you enjoy the idea of owning a film-star Sunseeker, the brand’s repeated involvement in the 007 franchise means there are more pre-owned opportunities than you might think. In 007’s ‘The World is Not Enough’, a Sunseeker Superhawk 34 was used for a boat chase on the Thames in the longest ever pre-title action sequence. And having put in a performance in ‘Die Another Day’ with the Superhawk 48, Sunseeker would return again in 2006, with both the XS 2000 and the Predator 108 in ‘Casino Royale’. The Superhawk 43 and Sunseeker 37M also then starred in ‘Quantum of Solace’ in 2008, but it was the appearance of the venerable old Sovereign 17 that showed just how fondly regarded Sunseeker had become. As one of the firm’s earliest open boats, with the late company MD, Robert Braithwaite CBE at the helm, it reflected Sunseeker’s enviable pace as a true bastion of Britishness.
